Program Manager, National Farm to School Network

Bio

Coming from an immigrant background, Trisha rooted her work with cultural humility in mind, which is the ongoing learning, acknowledgment, and honoring of a community’s beliefs and values when approaching community engagement and coalition building.

Trisha currently works at the National Farm to School Network where she focuses on program development and evaluation of farm to school strategies and network building across the country. Her passion for working in local food systems began as a nutrition educator at the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – Education (SNAP-ED) initiative. Trisha is a systems thinker and eager to address health challenges in our food systems by centering the people as well as uplifting the power of collaboration when it comes to implementing sustainable systems changes. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband, cooking and experiencing new foods, and practicing yoga.

She was born in the Philippines, raised in San Francisco, California, and now resides in Chicago. She is inspired to collaborate across sectors to increase awareness and access to local foods, connect with farmers, and share delicious meals with the community as part of the Green City Market Associate Board.
